TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“18I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, "Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I'll handle the works department."
Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove.”
James 2:18 (The Message)

We all have dreams that we’re hoping will come to pass and promises that we’re standing on. And we should always be praying, believing, and hoping. That’s all part of faith. But there’s another step that oftentimes, people leave out—you have to put action behind your faith.
Are you doing anything to show God that you’re serious about what you’re believing for? You can pray all day long, “God, get me out of this problem.” Or, “God, give me that promotion.” But if you really want to get God’s attention and see God move in amazing ways in your life, take it one step further and do something to demonstrate your faith. You may have an addiction, but are you going to a recovery program? Maybe you lost your job. Are you putting your resume out and knocking on new doors? That’s faith that God can see. And when He can see your faith, you’ll see His hand of blessing, provision, and victory in every area of your life!

Testimony for the Month:
Faith to me is a very interesting subject. You always hear things like all you need is a mustard seed worth of faith and that faith can move mountains.
I’ve experienced some amazing things through faith. There was a time when I wasn’t being very responsible with my money and had my car repossessed. I was talking to the rep and she was being very rude and uncompassionate (rightly so, because it was my fault and my lack of wisdom that put me in that position) but I heard a small voice that said to ask for the manager, which I did. While the phone was ringing I got on my knees and prayed that God would soften his heart and have compassion on my situation.
I left the message and instead of being argumentative and feisty (like I was to the rep) I humbly told him my situation, that I was a single mom of a 4 year old and that I needed my car to get to work to support my family. A few hours later I got a call back from the same rep, who was a lot nicer and told me that I had to come up with 500 dollars to get my car back. God had worked it all out because I was able to get the money I needed between my daughter’s father and my aunt.
God had worked it all out but in order to do so I had to hear the spirit and listen to what it was saying. I also had to humble myself and explain my situation to a complete stranger. Finally I had to put aside my ego and ask my ex and my loud aunt for money.
All these things may sound simple but if you knew how hard, angry, bitter and feisty I was back then, you would know that it was not such an easy task for me. But I got my car back and have vowed to never take money away from my house or car payment...EVER!
